Purchased to go with a solid wood table. The metal looks great with the color of the wood. They were easy to assembly and are good quality. Have had them for two years and have stood up to daily use.

Defective items
We ordered 2 sets of these. Out of 8 chairs 6 were defective. Once we started putting them together we noticed the seat backs wouldn’t sit flush. The metal piece where the screws needed to attach was bent the wrong way. We tried screwing anyway, thinking we could force it to bend (on 2 of the chairs). No luck. This caused the screws to strip so we couldn’t remove them. Left me wondering how in the world I’m going to return these when we can’t fit them back in a box.When I requested help from Amazon about how to ship these back since we weren’t able to remove the pieces to put back in a box I was told any box was fine. When I said I wasn’t going to go buy large boxes for all these chairs they told me I can take them to UPS without a box. I guess I have to lug 2 huge boxes and 2 semi built chairs into the store hoping they’ll actually take these.PROS: loved the color. The black is a true matte black. The 2 chairs that could put together correctly were exactly what we wanted and seemed comfortable enough for metal chairs.

Package arrived well ahead of estimated delivery date and in good shape. Products are properly padded. No scratch was found. Chairs are well painted and well built overall. The paint job is more than enough for everyday use, though not much to write about. Installation is easy, only to tighten 4 screws on a chair. 2 back screws holes are well prepared and easy to work with. It takes more time on 2 side screws than the back ones. Some to all chairs, so it may be by design. After daily use for almost one month, no need to tight any screw. It is a solid chair but not luxury.Chairs are very clean. I wiped them with damp cloth before installation, and it is not necessary. It is very easy to clean. I put chair pads on them, so don’t comment on sitting on metal surface directly. You may forget it is a metal chair if you put a soft puffy pad on it. Chair size is medium and good for my family and small dining space. If you want a large chair with armrests, go for another design. Plastic footpads are helpful to protect wood floor. It can be used both indoor and outdoor. I don’t like sitting in the rain, neither these chairs.Satisfied with the purchase.

Not only are these classic Tolix Marais style chairs attractive (I LOVE the matte black finish) and comfortable, but I got all four for just $99.99 taxes & shipping included. You can’t even find chairs that inexpensive at IKEA for pete’s sake! These are well made; constructed from solid steel that feels sturdy and strong, yet is surprisingly light too making them easy to lift for stacking . They were delivered SO quickly! I ordered them on Sep. 22 and they were delivered to my door midday on Sep. 24. They came carefully packaged, arriving in pristine condition, and were very easy to assemble. It took just four screws to attach each back to the seat (the screws & Allen keys are all included). In no more than 30 minutes the chairs went from a few parts in a box, to fully assembled and tucked up to my dining table. I love them! They are exactly what I wanted in terms of style and quality, and the super afforable price was a definite bonus! I could not be more pleased with my purchase and I absolutely would not hesitate to recommend/order from this company again.
