Great spreader
This spreader has a larger capacity than what I was expecting but that’s fine because it works so well! I have had other spreaders in the past but none has come close to this one in performance and ease of use. It is very well built and the gears are so smooth it make’s spreading salt effortless. Highly recommend.

High Quality Easy To Use
I have a small yard and this is exactly what I need. I used it to put down fertilizer and grass seed and my results were pretty good.. This one holds a little more than the older models and is a little more sturdy. Excellent value for the price.

A while lot better than using your hands.
This spreader works great. It has different settings so it can be used for various purposes year round. I deducted 1 star because I think the price was a bit high for a plastic molded product. Other than that, I’m happy to have something to evenly spread grass seed, fertilizer, and salt in the winter. It is a sturdy plastic and is easy to use. Plus, I don’t have to get my hands dirty anymore!

Works better than the battery operated ones!!!
This is the best hand powered spreader I’ve ever, ever purchased! It didn’t jam when I used rock salt for snow and ice in my driveway! In one fill, it covered my whole driveway, which is pretty big! I did it in less than 3 minutes! I had purchased a battery operated one a couple weeks ago and it kept jamming so I sent it back to amazon! Buy the Scotts Whirl hand powered spreader, you won’t regret it!

almost no problems.
Works on 2000 sq foot lawn, Turning the crank backwards causes an edge so you can spread parallel to the planting beds with very little stray weed and feed getting in. Holds enough Scotts granules for about 700 sq feet at a time based on the weed and feed with crabgrass control directions of lbs per area. I like the idea there isn’t much left over and that I can just walk and whirl. Makes it easy. The trigger and rate controls are simple and work well. The only issue was the wrist support arm kept retracting. The positive stop isn’t too positive.

This lays down snow melt heavier and more broadly that I wish. It is a little wasteful. Yet, it works. I will keep it.

Easy to use
We had a full size spreader but didn’t use it anymore and it fell apart sitting in the garage.This little hand held one was perfect for the tiny job we had in mind for it. It worked very well.

Used instead of walk wheeled spreaders forScott’s lawn products and 10-10-10Seem to use so much less and so easy to walk aroundSince the spreader is at a height of 4 feet, the range of spread seems greater and more accurate than using a wheel spreader

I liked the way the spreader makes it easy to get even distribution over a large area. I have used it for both fertilizers and grass seed and like the way you can adjust distribution rate.The only downside is that it is difficult to restrict coverage to a defined area. You would need to be careful if you did not want a lawn treatment going over a nearby flower border etc.Overall, good value product that seems well built and makes spreading products easier.
