Special Reminder:
1. The pH function of this soil tester can not be applied to test pH value of any other liquid.
2. Since soil most often is in/close to neutral state (with pH value of 7), it is highly likely that you find the needle in display window stay still (because the default pH value is set at somewhere between 7 and 8) when you use it to test the pH value of soil. Customers sometimes are misled by this appearance and hence regard the tester as a defective unit by mistake.
How to Use:
Step 1: Switch to moisture/pH/light position according to demand.
Step 2: Insert the probe into the soil about 6-7 inches.
Step 3: Check moisture/pH/light level in the dial after 10 minutes.
Step 4: Remove probe from soil and wipe clean after each use.
Kindly Note:
1. Do not force it into very hard soil or touch hard objects since it will be easy to damage the probe.
2. Do not use it to test pure water or other liquids. It can only be used to measure soil.
3. Do not leave the meter in the soil for a long time.
4. Please wipe and clean the probe after each use.
5. If the soil is too dry the indicator will not move, and water it before testing.

Good product with excellent customer service
It is simple and easy to use at a competitive price. The pH function is the most useful, it provides an approximate pH for soil. I use it in my high, low, and neutral pH gardens as needed to make adjustments or confirm my suspicions about changes in pH while growing. The light function works well in full spectrum light, less so in grow lights of varying spectrums. I have not used the moisture function of this product, so I have no comment. The construction is good enough for most of my gardening needs I would not use it in rocky or dry clay soil types. For the price point, it’s economical and meets my needs very well for approximating soil pH. On that note, it is not a several hundred dollar pH meter with accuracy out to the tenths or hundredths place, it is also not for hydroponic gardens as noted in the user manual. It is, however, a great soil pH meter that gives me an approximate pH in my gardens. When I had an issue with the meter, I contacted customer service through Amazon, listed my problem in detail, and received a response in less than a day. After a brief conversation, the seller sent me a new pH meter that arrived a few days later, that is what great customer service looks like.

It’s not perfect, but it is good enough.
Upon initially encountering this device, I was inclined to return it as it gave differing results depending on where in the container soil I inserted it. However upon perusing the instructions, I learned that inserting the meter 3/4 into the soil is crucial for its proper functioning, and I was only pushing it down halfway. I wish this had been called out in a more obvious way.Although its precision may not be unparalleled, it provided a reading that I subsequently verified using litmus paper. My objective in monitoring soil pH for my huckleberries prompted me to seek a more efficient method of measurement. This isn’t exactly precise, but it does show me an acceptable range for the PH of my soil that it serves it function in providing the correct amendments to my soil for my various plants.

Clear usage instructions and action explanations.
The soil condition for accurate, non-damaging measure was noted and the fact that the light reading was responsive to UV explained why I saw no response to bright indoor lighting. I got a UV source and then got a reading. The warning to not test water instead of soil halted my impulse to do exactly that.

Not sure if it works for me
I bought this for moisture and PH, soThe PH scale is too small to tell the actual PH level. I can tell it’s below 7, maybe 6, maybe 5.For Moisture, it hasn’t rained in 10 days, yet this meter shows pegged at wet. Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers. My soil is on clay side below 6 inches. If I put the tips in about 3-4 inches it shows in the middle (moist). plants are not really producing, cuc’s are not fat enough. bell peppers look like fryers. So, i’m thinking this is not helping me.

I got this second one for my son that has started his collection of plants. I bought mine last year and I have used it on a regular basis not only to see if my plants need water but to check the lighting and the pH balance in my plants. Definitely worth the money in order not to over or underwater your plants.I highly recommend it because it’s easy to use last a long time and does exactly what it was intended to do. Every gardener needs this!
I don’t know why I’d never owned one of these before. I start most of my garden each year from seed, indoors, in January. In the past I had the leggy sprouts, sometimes dying because they were getting too much water, not enough light, etc. This solves that, very easy to use, and it’s affordable!

Perfect – for about a year at least
I really love these things. Easy to use and easy to read, but I swear the moisture reader stops working after a year. It also seems to struggle more in some soils than in other. The pH reader rarely works. It puts everything at a 7, even when a soil test comes back with something different. The light meter is a great, but not something I use very often.

eli yüzü düzgün, çalışıyor. ilk başlarda kullanıyordum ama sonra üşenmeye başladım. bir müddet sonra insan çiçeklere alışıp gerek duymuyor. o yüzden ne kadar gerek var bilmiyorum. ne kadar doğru ölçüyor onuda bilmiyorum. tekrar alacak olsam tek çubuklu olanını alırdım. çünkü her seferinde iki çubuk toprağa batıırıp çiçeklerin köklerine zarar vermek istemiyorum. tek çubuk olunca batırması daha kolay.
