Two season tickets.
One genius idea.
Zero interest in a relationship.
The plan is simple: a brand new, hot, preferably funny, definitely single male will fill one of those seats for every Bears game at Soldier Field. And I’ll fill the other.
I can’t think of a better way to use the season passes I’d bought for my ex-husband. I am a woman of plans, and this one’s foolproof.
Until Zach Bowen offers to be my practice round.
He’s infuriating. Presumptuous and overbearing. And absolutely, undeniably gorgeous. Any woman with a heartbeat would be attracted to him, and mine picks up speed every time he speaks.
But as I said, I’m a woman of plans — and I’m not backing down on this one.
One night. One game. And then, his time’s up.
He can try to change the rules, but here’s the truth: he can’t win if he’s playing the wrong game.
The Wrong Game is a stand-alone, angsty, enemies-to-lovers sports romance.

Cute and emotional read
This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it! I love her writing style and will definitely be reading more books by her in the future. I already have several lined up on my Kindle! I saw people talking about this book all over different social media sites. The blurb and the cover caught my attention so I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did! This was a really fun but also emotional story at the same time. I could really relate to Gemma in a lot of ways. I am a person that needs to have control and when I don’t have it, I can feel myself starting to freak out. I struggle with anxiety a lot and have for most of my life. I have also been hurt by being cheated on. That is a pain that you never really recover from completely – or at least I haven’t. Being cheated on causes major insecurity issues that you are left to deal with. My heart broke for Gemma and I was rooting for her to break her walls down to allow herself to fall in love again. I absolutely loved Zach. He was such an amazing and patient man. I’ve said before with other books that the main characters were made for each other, but this couldn’t be more true for Zach and Gemma. He is the perfect man for her. He accepted her as she was – anxiety, OCD, and past hurts included. I enjoyed seeing Zach interact with his family and seeing the close bond that they all had with each other. One of the things that I loved most about Zach is that he wasn’t afraid to talk about his feelings or be “emotional”. As much as I love Zach and Gemma, I can’t write this review without talking about Belle. That girl is just amazing and I loved her to death. I wish I could have just grabbed her out of the book and kept her for myself to be my best friend. She is the most supportive person to Gemma and isn’t afraid to call Gemma out on what she’s saying as well as what she’s not saying. Belle is so funny and feisty as well. I enjoyed getting to know her throughout the book. This book kept me interested from the very beginning and took me on an emotional roller coaster. I laughed, I cried, and I swooned. I can’t wait to pick up another book by this author!

Gemma and Zach
4/5 ⭐2/5 🌶️Okay, I deduct 1 ⭐ because Gemma was so dang frustrating. GURL. We get it, your ex suuuucks. But after repeatedly showing he’s not like that at all, you still don’t treat Zach like he deserves. At one point, I was like, I’ll take him if you won’t! But I digress. Beyond the ex issues, I still liked the book. It was sweet, enjoyed the side characters, had good banter, good spice, and a book boyfriend HOF worthy MMC. Loved and adored Zach all day. Just spent way too much time waiting for the FMC to get it together!

Little Slow but Good All the Same
This was overall still a great read. I don’t necessarily think Kandi’s best but enjoyed the plot and premise taking a new guy to each game with the season tickets; I love the age of the characters, felt a little more mature and the back story and development of the characters felt more real. Still seemed a little bit slow in overall development of the story.

Love the MMC, FMC needs therapy (respectfully)
This book had some heavy themes (in the characters’ pasts), but for the most part, we dont get bogged down in it.Gemma’s past relationship deeply scarred her, so she no longer believes in love and chooses to be alone. Her friend convinces her to at least “hang out” with some guys to possibly have a few one-night stands. Since Gemma has season tickets to the Bears, she uses that as her selling point. I loved the concept of bringing a new date to each football game. However, we dont get MUCH of that before, enter Zach, the charming bartender and fellow Bears fan, who volunteers as tribute to be her first “practice date.”And what a date he is! I adored Zach. He has his own baggage, but he’s worked through things and is pretty emotionally healthy.I know it’s part of a book to have some drama, but i had problems with the number of times Gemma decides to call it quits on the whole thing because she’s feeling overwhelmed by things being good with Zach. I get that she has things to work through, but 3 strikes might have convinced me (as Zach) to let it go. I wish she’d go to counseling like her bff suggested.Gemma’s bestie, Belle, is a great friend, and I look forward to reading her book.

THE WRONG GAME by Kandi SteinerGemma and Zach’s story Tropes: Sports RomanceI loved this angst filled story. Gemma is dead set against getting involved in another relationship after the ultimate betrayal. Then she meetsZach there’s an instant connection that she fights. This was an emotional tale and I really liked all the characters!! Great read!

This is up there as one of my favourite sports romance stories I have read yet. This book had everything from laugh out loud moments, moments you swooned to moments you cried. Zach was a truly rare and beautiful male lead who is up there as one of my favourite ever ones, his relationship with his family and Doc, his belief in true love, his live of all things romance and dealing with while showing all of his emotions were refreshing an a joy to read from start to finish. Gemma made your ache and for you to route for her to find away past all her pain buy all the while she makes you laugh and smile, her relationship with Belle was utterly fantastic and her passion for sports was amazing an as girl who is like that so relatable. This book just had everything and is an absolute must read.

What an emotional rollercoaster! I absolutely loved Zach, he said always the right things, did the right things, he was my personal Knight / Teddy bear. I suffered with Gemma and laughed with both. Can not wait for Belle’s story.

It’s infuriating how an author perfected an character of h which meek as well bratty at same times , indecisiveTo top of it the H come in doormat package , there’s a line between being persistent towards hopelessSorry this book just not my cup of tea
