    AMAZING!!!
It works better than I expected after watching YouTube with other planers, I have been turning $30.00 sheets of plywood into $50.00 sheets of plywood to build cabinets, I was going through boxes of sanding discs, I made one pass with the planer and it laid it down even with ease, it has more power and does a larger area than the big name tools for a fraction of the price and its made well works great I’ve been buying Wen tools for the last 2 years I’ve never had problems with any of them, my track saw, plunge saw, palm sanders they are all made well, I would recommend this planer and anything Wen puts their name on.

    This thing’s a hog!
When my first handheld power planer finally died, I ordered this one — not just because it was inexpensive, but because I’ve used other Wen tools that work great. It’s not as compact as some, it weighs quite a bit, and it makes a lot of noise (all planers do), but the quality of cut is more than acceptable and its chip-catching setup works well. If you need to fit doors, smooth edges of lumber, shape posts, or any of a BUNCH of other smoothing and shaping tasks, I think you’ll find this Wen planer a great combination of capability, quality and price.

    Good for this price
It is a deficiency that there is no spare knife. Other than that, the performance is good

    Excellent
Wonderful tool. Never used one regularly before but do a lot of woodworking and play with epoxy. Out of the box it performed superbly well. So easy to use as it is balanced and quite comfortable in the hand. My results on all materials are excellent and the job it does on epoxy is what I have been looking for. BUT WHERE IS THE DUST BAG. There is a massive debris issue and even a basic bag would be nice. WEN sells the bag on their site. I love the product so I guess I must go to WEN to get it. The product folks is wonderful and you will be happy

    New fav tool
I didn’t even know that this existed till a carpenter recommended it. I just picked the least expensive planer on Amazon and this thing works great.

work great as jointer but okay for …..
This planer works great as a jointer. if you’re in the market looking for a jointer, this is a great value option to consider. However, if you’re simply looking for planer, you should look for something else instead. I give 4 stars since I found the planing feature hard to use.

    Heavy duty
Really like this planer for flattening live edge slabs.. so much easier than sanding I can’t believe I didnt buy this earlier. Tool feels like nice quality blades were sharp and level out of the box

Great value. Ok quality control. Wish they had copied the fence from the more expensive brands.
For only a few bucks more than the 6-amp model, this is a great value. Way chunkier than the smaller one, and seems to have a decent amount more power. I’ve been making 3/64-inch passes on some green hemlock beams, and as long as I don’t push it, it doesn’t bog down.I will say I had to buy 3 Wen planers before I found one where the shoe was level “enough”, to not leave behind a large edge when doing side-by-side passes. The shoe on the 6-amp model was way out of whack. So, quality control is so-so. You may have to buy a couple before you get one with tighter tolerances.Still a great value compared to the blue B and yellow D brands. But one thing I wish Wen had copied was the attachment of the fence; the Wen fence attaches with one bolt near the front, so there’s a pivot point that will always have some play no matter how tight you get it, and the fence won’t necessarily be parallel to the shoe. The blue B’s fence has two attachment points, so no pivoting. The yellow D’s fence has a bar that extends through the front of the planer, so there’s no side-to-side play once it’s tightened down.

The item arrived and initially I was excited about it and had high expectations from it after seeing the reviews on amazon and youtube. I bought it primarily to straighten the edges of 2×6 to make a table top. After trying to straighten few pieces again and again, I realized that the straightening was not working. I had it on minimal setting and it was taking more wood off. Then I realized that the boards were in even bad situation than the initial point. This led me to suspicion of an issue. I turned the blades and found out that one of them was very off from one side. I tried to pushed the blade backwards and it improved but did not completely fix the problem. the planer started to work better than before but the blade was still little off and I could not make any adjustment unfortunately to completely fix the problem. So I returned the product.
