Best of the Christmas solar lights I’ve tried
I ordered multiple solar Christmas lights to try and determine which one to ‘standardize’ on for our yard. Installed them all along our row of trees, and then took survey of peoples favorite.These from Brighttown were the winner. The reasons given were the richness of color (they are a more vibrant and deep color hue) and overall brightness.Comments included that these looked the most like an ideal Christmas tree lighting vs the other ones were fainter and more ‘twinkly’ vs deep rich colors.I agreed with the votes btw, these are my favorite as well.Some general notes to help:1 – These are on a raw copper wiring. Be very careful unrolling/untangling. If you pull too hard you can kink the wire when it’s twisted, and with a few twists going back and forth to unravel, you can risk snapping it from bend fatigue. Didn’t happen with this set, but on similar style battery ones, I wrecked the whole string b/c it snapped as I tried to work it out of a kink. Lesson learned.The positive is this is bendable wire, so you can wrap it around things and it will stay put.2 – These come rolled into a loop, vs others came with it wrapped around center cardboard. Thus unrolling requires careful attention as it’s easy for a loop to go inside an outer loop and as you pull, the outer loop will bind into the inner one and see point 1…you will be untangling very slowly and carefully.It is helpful if you have two people to unravel as you can pull it out into a line and then apply. Otherwise go slow and realize you may have to manually expand a loop to allow an inner loop to come out..if you just pull more and more w/o paying attention, it will just tangle up even more, and see point 1.3 – Solar aspect works well. Even on a dark rainy day with least daylight of the year (winter solstice) these lights still put on roughly 2 hours of display. Obviously they go longer with actual sunlight charging but was impressed they could still kick on with nothing but cloudy day ambient light.I was running about a $15/two week bill with the battery powered equivalents (10 strands), so really pleased to be able to switch to solar now and have them look even better than the battery ones.4 – I find that each strand will cover a single 5 foot tree (think tapered small hedge type evergreens, < 1 foot diameter). I tried to use one strand and cover two trees, but got negative feedback that it only covered the tops of each one or looked skimpy...so plan on ordering more than you may think if you want a richer display.Summary- pretty amazing how good these look and running purely via solar is outstanding.

Love them-Size of a gum ball
T They worked the first night out of the box with only a few hours of sunshine!Not very bright so definitely an ambience light. The little bulbs look like crystal. Even the hummingbirds were interested when I was putting them on the fence.Will see how long these little solar panels work. They’re a bit small.

Cute but not that bright
I got the warm light, circular bubble ones. Pack of 2.PROS: 1) the length is great! A lot longer than I thought. 2) the lights themselves are cute and have a nice weight to them. 3) easy set up for the most part. I find they charge in direct sunlight better than indirect.CONS: 1) they’re pretty dim. This is my biggest issue. I’ve been using them for at least a week and they haven’t gotten brighter. If you want bright lights, then these may not be for you. 2) it can be hard to tell if they’ve been switched on. I had to wait until it was nighttime to see if they charged. We finally got it the next night.If these were brighter, they’d be perfect. Kind of on the fence of returning them…we’ll see.

Nice ambiance lighting, great customer service!
Had a little trouble with turning these on initially, but customer service folks were very helpful! Apparently the lights have a photo sensor in the solar panel, which will prevent the lights from working during the day or when there are some other light sources shining on the solar panel. So I charged them up during the daytime, and they came on without issue in the evening. Also, as others have mentioned, they aren’t very bright so don’t expect to use these as a lighting source. But perfect for a little twinkle of ambiance!

Awesome and durable
I bought two strands. The one on the pasture gate lasted all Christmas season and survived, still lighted, despite the horse taste testing it.The lights came on every evening and were visible til dawn with very little fading of brightness. This was a lot of sturdy performance and technology at a great price.

Cute, but may have trouble with the solar
I bought these lights to put up in my fenced-in patio. They’re very cute, it’s easy to splice strands together if you buy multiple, and they stay lit for hours…as long as you can get the solar panel in a good position. Maybe.One strand hasn’t given me any issues yet, but I can’t figure out what’s going on with the other. It did work correctly for one night, but it hasn’t come on since. I’ve moved the panel around, and I can’t decide whether it’s still in a bad location, if it’s just not getting enough sun because we’re going into winter, or if it’s truly defective.

I love these and they are super bright. They come pretty tangled and you’ll need to work on them.

These work well on my balcony I love the different patterns! They usually last for several hours after sundown although they don’t go on right away I live in the city so there are a lot of other light sources. They are the perfect length for a balcony.

Works well, would definitely recommend. My balcony gets indirect light most of the day so I was worried if solar lights would work but these ones are great. They stay lit until dawn and are great quality.

– Good .. has several light modes like flikering- Lights are kinda small and not extremely- bright but still looks nice for decoration in the dark- solar works fine and lights kept going for like 5 hours and still lighting up.- good for camping / picnics
