Cordless Chisel Power in a Small Starlock Package
When it comes to oscillating multi-tools, no company seems to do it better than Bosch. This tool was purchased as a compliment to the Bosch GOP18V-28N for mostly light-duty jobs that require a more precise degree of control that is difficult to achieve with the larger, heavier 18V version. It’s not only appreciably smaller, but weighs around 2 lb (w/ battery), or about half that of the Bosch 18V brushless multi-tool. And this tool does not disappoint with its smooth operation; vibrations (at the grip) are practically non-existent even at the highest speed setting. While there are many 12V multi-tools available from other manufacturers, this is the only one that currently offers a brushless motor, so output power and battery life should be somewhat better than competing models.Although the blade change process is not tool-less like it’s larger 18V cousins, it’s relatively quick since a built-in magnet holds the attachment in position while threading the screw and tightening with the furnished wrench. Bosch probably opted to use a simple fastening screw due to size and weight considerations, instead of the blade change lever found on their other Starlock models. The only downside here is that there is no onboard storage for the hex key.My only complaint is that Bosch does not offer this tool as a complete kit with batteries and charger as it does for its other 12V tools, such as drills and impact drivers.Highly recommended. especially for light-duty tasks or situations where precise blade control is important.

    Starlock tool
Already got a Bosch 12v drill and recipricating saw. Not for professional use or heavy home use, but for normal household chores, these work great. Wanted an oscillating tool to find out why everyone like these things and wanted to stay in the Bosck 12v family so I could use the same batteries. Like the other tools, this is not meant for heavy duty use, but is great for light duties. Downside is that the tool uses Starlock accessories. I don’t have an existing stash of accessories, but the Starlock accessories do seem limited in choice and more expensive. QC could have been better…battery light on the tool goes out after a few seconds and overall tool seemed “dirty” upon arrival – not enough to classify as used, but maybe refurbished.. This incarnation of the tool is getting long in the tooth. Time for Bosch to make version 2.

    Great tool for upclose cutting
This is a great tool for enclosed cutting and much more. Every toolbox should have one. They cut thru most materials, some may take longer than other saws. This is just a quick go to of mine!

It’s time to confront Bosch fellow users
First of all let me say that I love the Bosch 12v line and have almost everything on it,I’m also heavily invested in m12 as well as Makitas CXT line.I have both omt’s from those companies so I can offer I direct comparison based on actually daily use.Right out of the box I was under impressed,as a disenchanted Fein multimaster owner I immediately saw the chronic design flaw in this tool.the head is a separate piece from the body like the Fein and like the Fein it is attached to the main body of the tool by 4 screws which are literally just screwed into plastic, over not all that much usage the screws will loosen and the head will start to detach from the body,as it is stripped out plastic this will be virtually un fixable and result in the tool being sidelined as was the Fein.German engineering just isn’t what it used to be.From their cars to other products I’ve been noticing the quality slip for years now.Now let’s move onto the main complaint, being locked into one brand if blades that are expensive. For any frequent user of multitools it is important to be able to use cheap blades for tasks that would destroy any blade expensive or not,in order to find a starlock to ois adapter I had to go on eBay and find one 3 d printed in Russia, and buy it used. Now let’s get to the size.compared to my cxt and m12 tools it’s big and cumbersome, frankly it’s closer in size to my 18 v OMT’S and there is no noticable increase in power to make up for it,the power button is too small and awkward to use and the tool doesn’t feel very comfortable in the hand in general.Perhaps the most annoying point of all is that the18 v version has a really good quick release system that this one doesn’t, despite it’s huge size.As an otherwise big fan of Bosch tools this one has really rubbed me up the wrong way,Bosch needs to start including a factory OIS adapter with this tools out of respect to third customers. The only reason I didn’t give it one star was because it has a brushless motor.I hope Bosch takes notice of the increasing criticism of this tool.i would like to add that it has been some time now that I have been burdened with this appalling insult to Bosch 12 v users, this rip off of a blade system has soured my attitude towards my entire Bosch 12 v line as I have had to incorporate Makita 12 v omt to replace this tool within my Bosch 12 v platform, the lack of affordable blades for work that destroys any blade means that this tool has left me feeling that the only reason for starlock is to exploit those who are locked into this platform.take note Bosch, after years of loyal useage of your tools I am moving to another platform because of starlock

    Uses the Starlock system blades.
Like all Multi tools it’s noisy but it cuts just fine. The battery condition gauge is a nice touch. Starlock blades have a deep recessed mounting hub so if, like me you already have a sizable collection of the most common blades you’ll need to spend some more money. Another thing is it still uses a hex wrench, has no lever quick release. Not a deal breaker but…

Werkzeugwechsel etwas umständlich mit Innensechskant, sonst top. Meine alte Fein mit Kabel bleibt nur noch für längere Einsätze.
