One word “AWESOME” Lopper by Fiskars Model 9154
I am an outdoor type person, hunter, logging, landscaper etc, so you can rely on my opinion and feedback on this Fiskars Model 9154. First thing I was looking for, in my line of work, was a lopper on steroids type of cutter. When I found this Model 9154 by Fiskars and bought it I was amazed at my first use with it. First let me preface my feedback by saying that the pics that Amazon shows for this tool are WRONG. I’ll explain. What I wanted in a gear lopper was a metal gear not plastic gears which are what are shown here in the pics and are part of the plastic grip. These plastic gears I feel will fail after continued and heavy use trust me they will. The plastic gears believe it or not come on a more expensive model (forgot the model #). What Amazon does have is the right model for the metal gears and it is in fact the #9154 model shown here for about $31. I got mine a gold box deal for about $23, a great deal…but I would have paid $40 for them…Dont tell Amazon or they will raise the price. The only problem and it was not a huge one on the gold deal box thing at $23, I had to add another item to get it above $25 for the free shipping..no biggie. Done deal. Well now for the description and review.. This model 9154 comes with true metal gear diven cutting head. Actually it is not a gear at all, there are teeth that are machined cut into the head area of the entire cutting head for leverage and it works!!!. Good quality and well done. As far as cutting this unit is amazing. My first cut I tried it on some heavy hardwood field sapplings that are like ironwood. First of all I am no tiny guy, I’m 6’4″ and 225 lbs. and fairly strong. My old conventional pruner loppers (24″ and 32″) on this same sapplings 1-1/2″ to 2″ I would have to bite around it with the cutting edge a couple times to weaken it before I could make the sever cut. So now with these Fiskars in hand, I walked up to a 2″ sap, opened the jaws to fit it and anticipated a grunting squeeze, which never came. This tool is amazing. With no effort at all this lopper cut thru as they say like a hot knife thru butter. I thought that I should try a couple more in case this one had some rot, which I did not suspect really. The next few went as easy and fast as the first ones.Trust me this is the unit to get especially if you are elderly, or a female, (and no I am not a male Sho-v-nis-tic guy..lol) Why kill yourself with the old style. This is basic physics put to work….leverage…and it works. A grammer school kid could have disigned this. I am just sorry I did not invent this and then patend it. In my years I have made my guess million plus cuts with prunners and loppers and just recently discovered this tool. You have to buy this tool, it will do everything and then some beyond your expectations. Dont waste your money on the more expensive model, especially the one with the plastic gears. I liked it so well I ordered three more for gifts for friends. And no I do not work for Fiskars, but maybe they should hire me…lol Buy it you wont be sorry or sending it back for a return. You will thank me…Tom Whit

Razor sharp!
Love fiskars, for years i bought lower quality pruners and axes, then i got a fiskars axe and was sold on the quality of the blade. Hardened steel holds up much longer, These pruners have a bigger bite then youd expect. i took out a 4 inch hardwood bush i fully expected these to break and they still cut brush like new.Just dont twist them if you are cutting something to big. Most people dont use these right and twist with the cut which will damage the blade and bend or chip it. Use tools properly and they will last many years. I love these they are lightweight yet handle sage brush and small tree limbs like butter.

Small loppers
First off, I will say these are not meant to be super heavy duty loppers for pruning large branches. They are meant to be small, light, and easy to use, and in those areas, it excels. When they first showed up, I thought no way these can cut a 1″ hardwood branch, they are so light they have to be flimsy. OK, I’m willing to admit when I’m wrong. For as light as these are, they are surprisingly strong. The blade is sharp, coated to be rust resistant, and cutting effort is much less than expected. Durability is good, too. These are not the first pair I got, I had some for several years, and they served me better than I expected for both the price, and for how lightweight they are. I actually got these for my daughter, who likes to help out in the yard. They are light and super easy for even a 13 year old girl to use, the little gear reduction thing at the jaws really helps reduce the strength needed to cut, and they are light enough they don’t wear her out. Also, the cutter is ‘offset’ so that it can almost cut flush if you hold them the right way.I tend to only give 5 star ratings to items that stand out above and beyond others I have used, and these come SOOOO close, but I’ll give them 4-1/2 stars because over time the little bolts that hold the blades will loosen, and require tightening every once in a while. Not very often, but they still do. Keep in mind, my old pair have made hundreds of cuts, and maybe needed tightening 3 times. They still worked fine when the bolt loosened up, but they started to get a slight ‘wobbly’ feel in the hinge. When I saw I could get another pair for $15, I jumped on the chance.

totally worth it
So much better than my standard long loppers. These are extremely lightweight so I don’t get as fatigued while trimming yet they are even sharper than my regular loppers.

Excellent Lopper!
This lopper is incredibly strong, sharp and heavy duty. It’s the one to get.

Works very well
These are awesome. They are durable and sturdy and cut through more than you would think. We even left them out in the rain and they were not impacted at all by the elements

Nice Loppers
Nicely made loppers at a decent price, I’m hoping they’ll hold up.

I thought it would be good, but it is great. Yes, it does cut through 1.5″ branches, no problem. It is not flimsy. It might be a little heavy for weak arms. Great price too.

great product for the price , does the job the same as the more expensive ones .

Easy to use, cuts like butter as long as you don’t try to use it on branches thicker than recommended.
