New Family Game Night Staple
To start, we were hoping to find something entertaining that doesn’t involve a screen. I had never heard of this game before and that’s a shame – it is fantastic. I have two boys aged 7 and 10 and they and I love playing this.The pitching control is very innovative with the ability to throw a variety of pitches with varying levels of speed so it’s not just a simple pinball style – there is some nuance to getting the timing and pitching controls correct but not overly difficult for children to master. There are magnets built under the playfield and the pitching user has the ability to change the spin from side to side for slow curves and screwballs with even the ability to throw sinkers with a door that flaps down in front of home plate. Batting is ambidextrous. Gaming board is just under 17”x17”.The construction is plastic but not thin cheap plastic – it is well made and a very fair asking price for what you are getting. Highly recommend – almost tempted to get another in case these aren’t made anymore in the future. Will be a family game night staple for years to come.

The Perfect Way to Teach Your Kid(s) the Rules and Joy of Baseball Indoors (And Have Fun Yourself)
This is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. I bought it for my five-year-old son for a number of reasons. We love baseball, he is just starting to learn the sport, and I wanted something that we could do together. The beauty of this game/toy, to me, is that it acts as a wonderful teaching tool or just a fun way to pass time. My son is learning how runners advance on different kinds of hits. He’s learning what sacrifices are. He’s learning balls and strikes. He’s learning outs. He’s learning all of it, and he’s having a blast doing it. It helps that the guys are blue and red (we’re huge Cubs fans and we, naturally, despise the Cardinals). The game works pretty simply. The pitcher pulls back a small, spring-loaded lever and releases a pitch. You can control the speed of the pitch by how far back you pull the lever. With a five-year-old, I don’t pull it back that far. But when i’m playing with my wife or a buddy, the pitches can really come quick. You have to time it up with some genuine effort. It also gives you the option of throwing sliders in either direction. Batting works in much the same way. You pull back the bat and you release it when you’re ready to swing. There are pits all over the field. Each represents an out or a type of hit. You can even hit homeruns.Keeping track of strikes, balls, and outs is a cinch. You move pegs. Again, great for learning the rules of the game. I even let my son know that certain hits, though they register as single outs in the game, would really be double-play balls. All of the plastic players move. Setup is essentially taking the field out of the box. It’s lightweight, easily portable. It can be played lying on the floor or on the dining room table. We have a lot of fun with this.This was, by far, my son’s favorite Christmas present. We’re still playing with it regularly in February and he’s ready for the Cubs to get going!

best pitcher vs batter duel in a game
Perfect game. This game captures the strategy of pitcher vs batter. You really feel like a pitcher changing speeds and curves. The batter is nervous hoping to hit a pitch. The fastball is too fast to hit. But if you hit it, bam! Homerun out of the park. The curve balls are hilarious. Lots of laughs and fun as you play. Very well made.There is nothing wrong with the bat like the video of the 3 year old mashing the levers with her dad. They have the bat on backwards. It works perfect and does NOT get stuck on the wall ever.

I bought this for my 4 y/o sports nut and it was a big hit on Christmas day. He loves baseball (we play it all the time) but he still isn’t quite clear on the structure of the game. We are having a blast playing and it is definitely helping him get the idea of some of the basics – for instance, balls & strikes, base running, the way innings work, etc.The game says ages 6+, but I’d say if your kid doesn’t put things in his/her mouth and can sit still to play Candyland, they’ll be able to handle it. My son’s attention span is about 4 innings and I don’t pitch it too fast to him but we still have a really good time every time we play it. We don’t move the fielders once we start playing and we only change the batter from righty to lefty when each team goes up (he bats left-handed IRL) but he knows how to do all the trick pitches and I can see that as he gets older, he’ll get involved in the details a bit more.As far as the construction, it’s fine – some of the players get loose and the fixture for the batter concerns me a bit (I don’t see it lasting forever & ever) – but overall, it’s decently made and I can see it holding up to regular play for the next few years.

Old school fun that keeps kids busy!
UPDATED :: I’ll give 3.5 stars now. you cannot buy replacement pieces from the company. kinda ridiculous being that it’s FILLED with necessary tiny pieces. This is PERFECT for my 4 year old son’s christmas. He’s super into sports, and this is holding him over while baseball season is over. It’s a bit big but you can’t help it based on what the game is. It’s like one of those old school pinball/arcade games that I remember playing at that random “uncle’s” house or at that Brookstone a long time ago. It’s not super tricked out in decor in the bleachers, but my kids have been putting their shopkins and tiny figures to serve as the spectator fans in the seats. Super cool that you can change the pitches to go left or right, or sinker (more for the advanced games that I play against my husband) I only wish that it had a score keeping system built in to the game. But overall, it’s great. As long as my son has someone to play against, he can play this for a long time. There’s a video of it on youtube so you can see it in action!
