A must-have for little ones

Good Play Value
I like and trust the Melissa & Doug brand, and this did not disappoint. Note, it’s rather small, from a grown-up’s perspective; however, it’s an excellent size for little hands. I got it for my granddaughter when she was about 12 months old; she’s 16 months old now, and still plays with it. I can’s say that she ever plays with it for very long — she’ll stack it up two or three times, at most, and then that’s it. However, over time, she plays with it again and again.The only downside is that it’s easy for one of the rings (or the ball on top) to get misplaced. However, given the nature of the toy, I don’t see how that risk can be eliminated. Just look carefully under cabinets and chairs!

Grand daughter love it
My 14 month grand daughter loves this toy. She loves stacking the rings and is learning her colors as she does. I like the fact that there is weight to the rings so she can feel the difference in the sizes. It is well built and the wood is nice and smooth.

Great product, smaller than expected (read measurements)
I absolutely love all of there Melissa & Doug products. I gave this product 4/5 stars because of the size- it is much smaller than I expected/wanted, however the description states the size (which I didn’t pay attention to when purchasing). I got it for my 12 month old who loves it. I have listed my findings below.SIZE: When I measured the size I found that it was about 8.25″ in height when stacked and the base is 3.5″ by 3.5″. The top ball piece is about 2″ in diameter. The smallest circle (orange) is about 1.75″ wide and the largest (purple) is about 3″ wide.FEATURES: The description states that it has a rocking base, but mine doesn’t “rock” like the comparable plastic Fisher Price toy. It is made of wood and painted. I have not had any chipping paint, but my daughter hasn’t started chewing it yet so we will see how that holds up.CONCERNS:- Potential chipping of the paint (which hasn’t occurred) and about the stick on the base when the rings are not stacked.- Long wooden stick base: I feel like if my child were holding this and fell, it could be dangerous. For this reason, I always am there supervising her when she plays with it.BOTTOM LINE: I like it and I would still purchase it even with my concerns. The paint has held up and hasn’t chipped. It is smaller, but my daughter still likes it and the small size takes up less room with all her toys. I love the simplicity and durability of wooden toys, and this item is well made and I have not had any issues with it so far.

Great toy for encouraging fine motor skills
I got this for my son for his first birthday. For a while, he would play with it by picking it up, dumping all the rings off the pin, and throwing them around, banging them together to make noise, or putting them in his mouth. (He still does this at 13.5 months, FWIW). In spite of the rough treatment, the rings (including the paint) and the pin are all still in fantastic condition, showing no real signs of wear. As our son has started walking, we’ve had to be careful to keep an eye on him if he is playing with this toy: we don’t want him walking around with it in his mouth, as he could easily injure himself pretty badly if he fell down like that. But he has learned how to stack the rings, and is SO proud of himself when he does it. The ball is a bit harder to put on the pin than the rings are, since it’s harder to see where the hole is, so he hasn’t mastered that yet. He’s a bit slow on pointing with his index finger, so we’re trying to work on that skill. One of the things I’ve started doing is encouraging him to poke his finger through the holes of the rings, so that’s another way we can play with this toy. It’s also great for identifying colors. (“Look, your shirt is blue! This ring is blue, too!” Great purchase.

Toddler loves it
I gave this to my cousin’s grandchild. Even with lots of family, dogs, and toys on Christmas, she kept coming back to this toy. She is only 14 months old but was able to stack a few. She also loved carrying the rings around. I feel that wood is more pleasing to hold than plastic. This toy is so good for developing brains. For the price it delivered a big impact.

The stacking toy is good quality. My toddler likes to chew on everything and the paint has held up. The stacker keeps her engaged for a while as she can put in the pieces in different order. Some stackers only allow rings in order by size which frustrates my little girl as she hasn’t quite figured that out yet. The stacker is kinda small but price is good.
