Almost a 5 star but….
The front corner of the saw case was busted. The outer box showed no damage so I assume it was packed knowing it was damage or it was damaged in transit and whomever was the culprit, changed the outer box. Anyway the saw seems to work fine with and as you can see, a little duck tape for the case.

Quick Work!
I had a few low hanging branches that needed chopping, and this made very quick work of it! It sliced right through it within 10 seconds, maybe less. I also had a few large fallen branches that I wanted to chop up for bonfires, and it made very quick work of that as well! That was about 5 inches in diameter, the live ones about 3 inches. I’m sure this could take down small trees. It has a good handle and I can get a good grip of it. The only two things that weren’t great but still functional are that the battery did not last very long and it did not come with the oil. I had it charged up to three bars. Good thing it comes with two batteries. Still, they will not last all that longer than a few minutes of cutting, so expect to make a few cuts and then have to change the battery or re-charge if you have a lot of work ahead of you, like a lot of logs or a yard full of bushes. I didn’t need the oil for these first few cuts, though I do want to keep it running smoothly so I will be buying it. The carrying case is very nice and latches well. It doesn’t just fall open and the latch will catch itself if you try to open while its standing up instead of laying on its side so you don’t have to worry so much about it falling out of the case while opening. It is simple to take the chain off the saw which was nice, and the guard is good as well. Overall, it’s great for someone like me who just needs to chop some fallen branches, bushes, or low hanging branches from time to time!

A Cut Above
Sometimes it pays to be a late adopter. The first wave of these mini chainsaws lacked many of the improvements that this model brings to the table. First and foremost is the onboard oiling mechanism. You need to provide your own oil, but that’s to be expected of any decent saw. Those tiny bottles cheaper models include barely last a weekend. Also really like the user friendly chain tightening mechanism and the sturdier blade guard. Would have liked bigger batteries, but so long as I keep the backup charged I expect this will get a lot of use.
