More than what I expected – Incredible build, great power
2 yrs later update:Had to replace the power cord after severing it on a dumb move by me. Grinder still kicks ace. I beat the crap out of it and it beats back. Has paid for itself 10 fold. definitely worth the money!Porter Cable did an excellent job in the manufacturing of this angle grinder. First off, the power is on point. Coming from a slightly less amperage grinder to this was a serious difference in power that I did not expect. The ergonomics and functionality of the entire tool are outstanding. The switch with the option to lock on is awesome, but I don’t even need to lock it on because the switch is in a perfect location with your grip as opposed to those grinders with the switch closer to the spinning wheel, and in my case that eventually wears out and you battle to keep the thing on. Furthermore, my favorite part really is the threaded hole locations for the auxiliary handle. they’ve machines a thread in the top of the grinder and I absolutely love it. for those times you need to get into tight spaces or you’re like me and always had my guide hand on top of the tool, this design is for you. awesome power, really attractive look, ergonomic and the guard is smoothly adjusted to avoid getting sparks shot at you. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I have not had it very long but I’m telling you, from a tinkering welder who does a lot of grinding, this piece is awesome. and the price!? cmon… can’t beat it!

This grinder is mean for the price! Nice and heavy duty, cuts quick, easy to hold with the provided handle, and everything was there. Even a grinding wheel which wasn’t expectedlisted which I’ve used quite a lot and still looks as if it’s barely been used. I did use it to cut rubber with a cutting wheel i bought and it was pulling HARD yet the motor never stopped spinning. Surprisingly powerful. This was more than expected for the price. I do recommend

I have bought two of these, not a bad little grinders for the price point. it has one issue that can be fixed with two small rubber O-rings, seems the backing plate is sloppy around the shaft, this let’s the wheel to be mounted out of round, it’s not much but noticeable. two metric rings fit best (can’t remember the exact size ATM) but it’s not hard to figure out. and improves mounting.I don’t know how long these will last, the shaft bearing holder is not metal it’s plastic, so if you drop it on the guard I don’t know if it will crack, so we shall see, I guess to lower the price they had to cheap out someplace, kind of like most everthing in life these days. If it was a hundred dollars I would be returning them.Some complain about the switch but I see no problem, just have to be flexible and know how to get used to different tools. instructions state “No cut off wheels” , it’s because it’s not a ohchit regulated guard now required these day’s just be wearing eye and face pro when using.

Great tool!
I bought a Metabo grinder of the same size because I had been told they were great tools. It lasted 6 months. Bought one of these Porter Cable Grinders at Lowes out of immediate need and that was all I had for a choice. It lasted 3 years! I have since bought these exclusively and they all last an incredibly long time in a less than ideal environment. We have a fab shop and they get used every day, and not always treated nicely. Hope they keep making them!

Great power and build quality for a good price. Use it currently to sharpen my lawn mower blades. Will certainly find more uses in the future. You won’t be disappointed!

The trigger is dangerous as it has a safety switch in the middle, works but you have to be holding the grinder just rite to make it work. I like the grinder it has a nice weight and I would buy again
