Surprise fun game for football fanatics
Bought on a whim as a holiday filler gift for 11 year old football fanatic. He is thoroughly enjoying! I will say that someone in the group does need to know the game to keep score. Fast paced and fun…Great find.

covers an amazing array of the nuances of football
I ran across this looking for some two+ person travel games. If you just start by looking at the directions, you’ll go mad. Just start rolling and looking up every roll. We struggled to figure out the scorecard so we bailed on that and just wrote down the play results. Once you **get** the logic, just start using what you know of football to work out what the dice mean. Get sacked, roll the yellow die to see how much yardage you lost and take away a run-play die because that’s a loss of down – OH. The only complaint we have is that on the possession die it would be helpful if the O and D were a bit less alike, especially in a campground picnic table.Once we figured out how the dice worked, the score sheets made a lot more sense. They also made the math easier. My husband made fun of me for being “1st and 10 at the 87 yard line”.It was really worth the time to figure out because we’ve had a blast playing. I think that what impresses me the most is how much of actual football they’ve worked out with the dice. Perhaps when I rolled a safety when I was on the 50 yard line wasn’t the most realistic, but they actually had worked out that you roll the kicking die from the 20 and not the end zone like a free kick. It would also be crazy helpful in real football to know ahead of time what the yardage was going to be on all of the downs but who cares, it’s a really fun game and any more complicated and it would be just too much.If you don’t know anything about football though you are going to be lost. On the other hand, if you wanted to teach someone the basic rules of football this would be a good way to do it. I should apologize to my niece-in-law because we got so excited about it we ordered one for my nephew that should be there tomorrow.that’s all I have to share,Kathryn Bishop

    Great dice game
If you like football and dice games this is a great choice for you. It’s not difficult for someone with the basic understanding of football to play. My only complaint is the score card pad. The score card is a rectangular pad stuffed in a tiny square box so expect it to be permanently warped. In my opinion there were better ways to execute the score card. Instead of a paper pad I think it would have improved the game to have a fold out football field either useable with an erasable marker or even a couple of small game pieces. I think I’ll toss the pad and DIY myself a laminated field and small game helmets for something.

    Fun Game, Great Customer Service
My son received this game for Christmas and was excited to play. When we opened it up and looked at the instructions, we noticed that we only received two green dice instead of the needed three. I went to zobmondo.com (the game manufacturer) and found an email address for their customer service. I sent an email asking if they would send to us one green die. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a prompt reply indicating that they would send it to us. Within a few days we received the missing die and could play the game. The game itself is fun and incorporates a lot of what you would see in a regular game of football. My son has enjoyed playing it with others in the family, and even plays on his own, simulating two of his favorite teams. While there is a lot of luck involved with moving down the field and scoring, there is some strategy involving probability and decisions on which dice to accept for yardage, whether or not to punt, kick a field goal, etc. It’s also a nice way for kids to practice doing simple math quickly.Overall, the game is a hit with my 8-year old son. I appreciate companies that take care of their customers, and Zobmondo was very helpful. Sometimes this seems like the exception and not the norm.

5 year old son loves it
I believe this is rated for 7 and up, but my 5 year old son (with some help from me) really enjoys playing the game with me. I would suggest buying this game for adults and kids. It’s been a great discraction from my kid playing video games. The game itself requires some simple math (adding dice and scores up) and an adult to help with the rules/instructions.I have one small complaint; the rules are a bit complex and the instructions are not as clear as they could be.Enjoy!

    Good, but somewhat chaotic
Let me preface this by saying that I’ve only played 2-3 games so far by myself. The game is well-designed and fun to play. The dice are of solid casting and very clear to read. The book of score sheets is fairly well-designed as well, though including a golf pencil with the set would’ve been nice.My biggest complaint about the game is that it’s extremely random. Of course, given that it’s a dice game, that’s to be expected. I guess even real-life football has a bit of chaos to it, with fumbles going both ways, penalties, etc. I suppose my disappointment with the game is that it’s not really “strategic” at all. You’re completely at the mercy of the die rolls. As it is, you’re rolling three dice with a number from 0-3 on them, and the “big play” die which has numbers in the double-digits and “TD” on it. I think it’d be better if you could choose to roll “rushing” dice or “passing” dice, with the appropriate yardage counts on each. At least that would add a little strategy. Or perhaps have offensive and defensive dice. Maybe they’ll go that route with the next version of the game.I’ll update this review later after I’ve played more and against actual opponents to see how I think of it. One plus for the game is that you can download a PDF of the score sheets, so you won’t have to buy a super-expensive pad of sheets again once you run out.
