Complete pain to put together
Looks great. However, a HUGE pain to put together. Instructions suck.

Not easy to put together. Looks good though!
Hope I remember to update with better pic. Don’t have any without the kids so I removed them to post it which is why pic looks bad.The good: Looks very nice. Feels sturdy. Came undamaged with all pieces and fairly decent instructions if you know what you’re doing. Was what we wanted. Kids love it. Spent more time in the dining room in one evening than we have in years. I do think this piece will last a long time. Easy to clean surfaces because of a very nice painted surface. Wood top is beautiful. Got the pillows which look nice: sewing is tidy/crispy. My kids want to eat, sleep, do homework, chat, do art and have friends over to this room because of this furniture. The bad: I’ve built a LOT of furniture. This felt like I may as well have built it from scratch myself. They didn’t drill pilot holes? Some pieces had 2 of three drilled. Some none. Some were not pre-drilled well enough so the screws were very difficult to sink fully. Had to take it apart to drill those more. I mean, some of those problems may be due to the fact that it was ok quality wood but again, that’s why you need the pilot holes! It was *almost* funny since the instructions specifically say to not use power tools. And, the hinge spring is a “No” from me. Installed it and the spring is so stiff that it just ripped right out of the (blessedly actually pre-drilled pilot holes) wood as I tried to close it. I quadruple checked that I had installed it in the correct position and orientation before I gave up. Obviously, it’s now damaged in the inside now where it ripped out. You don’t really need them though so I just threw my hands up and left those off.Listen, it looks great. For the money I spent I think I shouldn’t have had to work so hard. Maybe for 200$? If I hadn’t known what I was doing or if I didn’t have a drill on hand so I could fix the pilot hole problem myself I probably would have cried. It’s done now. I will enjoy it. But, if you buy this, you’ll need power tools and a second pair of hands.

Cute bench… not so cute assembly
UPDATED REVIEW!!! Delivery was quick however the assembly was not. It’s a 2 person job due to the multiple steps to assemble and because a few of the holes did not line up. All in all the bench is good quality and perfect for what I was looking for. Its been about 3 weeks and the top of the bench broke. The screws came out and split the wood so in order to use the top I have to drill completely new holes and adjust the hinges. I contacted customer service and they offered a partial credit but no refund option unless I wanted to disassemble the entire thing to get the top replaced. VERY DISAPPOINTING because is is so dang cute. Live and learn. Get the insurance if you are thinking about ordering one. If not their are other ones out there that are solid wood and not particle board. BUYER BEWARE!!

A lot of assembly.
I forgot the total count but it has a lot of screws in the assembly and not all are easy to get to. After reading the warning about using electric tools I used a ratchet screwdriver for the dirt dozen or so before I gave up and grabbed my drill… probably didn’t help that this arrived in the evening right after I finished assembling a new kitchen table but in my opinion over half the assembly could/should have been done at the factory. Wife loves it though so their is that.

Sturdy and attractive dining set
Product was delivered by Amazon delivery rather than UPS/FedEx. There were no damages (scratches/dents) when I unpacked the boxes. All hardware was included (no missing bolts, etc). If you have assembled ikea furniture, this is similar (only quite heavy as most pieces are solid wood). My only complaint is regarding table assembly. There were holes that were not drilled in the correct space for included bolts. Thankfully, my husband had drill bits that drilled holes so they would line up correctly to accommodate the 4 bolts. Had he not had the correct tools handy it would have been a problem. Once everything was assembled, I was very happy with the finished product. They also had a white/oak set which i would have preferred, but it was almost 200 dollars more. The black looks sharp and perfect if you are going for a more moody interior. I also purchased the cushions which were very expensive, however they fit perfectly and are comfortable. I would recommend this set, especially if there are some hand tools (drill, drill bits) available.

Do not buy
Never received the table. Was told I could only receive a refund if I returned the bench. Initiated a return and was told I would be contacted by someone to arrange pickup of the bench. It’s been 3 months and no contact. Wouldn’t even give partial refund for the missing table. Assembly of the bench was an absolute nightmare. Do not recommend

Two #13 parts instead of one #12 and one #13
AN EDIT TO ADD… my husband has drilled the necessary holes, and the bench works well in our dining room, now.My husband and I just received this as our Christmas gift. Got it home and started to assemble it. My husband is almost finished, and he discovered that we have two #13 board pieces instead of one of #12 and one #13. Of course… my mother-in-law spent a lot of money on this. What’s even more upsetting is that it is Christmas Eve, and just before dinner time! Hopefully my husband can drill some holes, otherwise this bench is trash, because we can’t keep it in a small dining room and still be able to use all of our chairs for the table we currently have.
